A DYING ART (2023)

Writer, director

"Two art students trapped instide the art studio, with nothing but the living ego-dead standing in between them and the world outside."My biggest project to date, a 12 minute short film that is a homage to the anxieties of high school students about the uncertainties of the future. The script went through many revisions as it was very important to me to be able to intentionally work with a limited set and cast in order to fully exploit each scene's visual potential.Directing a crew of a dozen people was stressful, but the most fulfilling experience I have to date. On set, it was critical to get have trust in everyone's ability, and I was so fortunate to have a team that I could communicate the creative vision so well with.

Early Concepts

Water is Life (2022)

Writer, DP

"Water is Life" is one of the first narrative projects I did with two other friends. We found a really cool bathroom in the campus and liked the potential of the architecture.I knew shooting monochrome would be good for us to be able to focus on the composition and the values; it really highlights the space and atmosphere. Because this choice was made early in the process, we made the black/white a part of the plot with the spreading muck.
